Expectations from the surgery are discussed and settled. In this stage, you should inform your plastic surgeon about your bad habits, past diseases and previous operations. After the examination, our surgeon will inform you about the type of anesthesia which will be used during the operation and when you will be discharged from the hospital.

What happens after the abdominoplasty?

The patient stays in hospital overnight after abdominoplasty operation. Rubber drains are removed on the next day of the surgery. Since all the stitches stay under the skin, there will not be any stitches to be removed. Post-operative, swelling and aching may be but the painkillers prescribed by the doctor will ease the pain. The patient can go back to work in two to four weeks. Scars will be pink for 3 to 6 months but the color will fade away starting from the 9th month of the surgery.

Will I be able to get pregnant after abdominoplasty?

Although it is not advised to get pregnant on the first year after the surgery, you can get pregnant after abdominoplasty.

Should abdominoplasty and liposuction be administered together?

During abdominoplasty, fat in the abdomen can also be removed synchronously. In this case, liposuction is the technique to be applied.

Are the results of abdominoplasty permanent?

Abdominoplasty is administered once and normally does not require to be repeated. And yet, if the patient gains and loses weight excessively or gives birth, the abdominal skin can loosen.

It is not necessary to repeat the surgery unless the patient gives birth or has a fluctuation on his/her body weight which can cause the skin to loosen.
