Hair Transplant
Below, you can find detailed information about the treatments we offer and learn about the treatment processes.
Hair Transplant
Hair Transplant according to the different needs of people, the treatment methods and content recommended for hair loss may vary. In people with hair loss, hair follicles (grafts) are collected from the upper parts of the neck or, if necessary, from the beard parts under the chin, and they are transferred to the determined areas by mapping them to the areas with gaps before the procedure. In this procedure, which is performed under sterile conditions by expert teams in hospital conditions, the openings in the crown and forehead are treated by applying local anesthesia to the hair follicles in the stronger areas, which are considered as donor areas, by using a micromotor one by one and transplanting them into the areas with openings.
The FUT method, which was used as the first hair transplantation technique, was used actively until the 2000s, it is the oldest method used in hair transplantation today. Hair transplantation is not performed using the FUT technique. The hair follicles to be transplanted are taken from the donor area by cutting together with the skin after applying local anesthesia. In the FUT technique, which is a surgical operation, because the incision is used, it is obligatory to suture the area where the incision is made. The cut strips are cut into pieces and placed in the planting area. 1 week after the procedure, the sutures placed in the donor area should be removed.
By the beginning of the 2000s, the FUE method in hair transplantation was developed and started to be used instead of FUT. It is the most widely used and known technique. The Fue method, a technique that has been applied since 2004, is a technique that is extremely open to technological developments and has continued to be developed since the day it started to be implemented. In this process, after the hair is shaved and local anesthesia is applied, the roots from the donor area are collected one by one with the help of 0.6-1 mm micro motor tips, and incisions are made at certain intervals to place the grafts in the previously planned hair transplant area, the channels are opened and inserted with forceps.Ha
Who Cannot Have Hair Transplantation?
• Hair transplantation cannot be performed on patients with hepatitis C disease,
• Hair transplantation cannot be applied to patients with HIV-Aids disease,
• People with serious chronic diseases,
• Hair transplantation cannot be performed on patients with kecoid disease,
• Hair transplantation cannot be performed on patients who have cancer or who have not recovered within 1 year,
• People with hemophilia should have a blood test before having a hair transplant operation. In a blood test, the rate of blood clotting is checked. In this way, necessary blood coagulation drugs are available against situations that may pose a risk in the operation.
Frequently Asked Questions
While evaluating whether the patients' own hair will fall out, the age of the patient, whether there is a history of hair loss in the family or not, the thickness and quality of the hair are examined. It is not possible to predict with 100% accuracy whether the person's own hair will fall out, although patients under the age of 40 with a family history of hair loss and light skin and fine hair structure are at higher risk.
For the first 1 month after hair transplantation, the transplanted area should be protected from direct sunlight, rain and dust. You can go swimming and sauna after 1 month after hair transplantation.
- If the person who wants to have a hair transplant is a diabetic, it should be evaluated by the doctors, taking into account the patient's age, weight, medications, and blood values. If all conditions are deemed appropriate, hair transplantation can also be performed for diabetics.
- Hair transplantation is performed safely and successfully in most people. This includes those with diabetes (diabetes), but the success of the results depends on whether your disease is under control. In addition, the success of the procedure is closely related to which type of diabetes you have. With careful planning and our specialist doctors, you can have a successful hair transplant even if you have diabetes.
Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure that usually takes six to eight hours. That's a really long time, and your blood sugar needs to be factored in.
Anxiety, adrenaline and long-term hunger that can be experienced in any hair transplant process can cause the release of another hormone called "glucagon". Glucagon acts in the opposite direction of insulin and prevents blood sugar from falling too low. Elevated glucagon levels in someone with diabetes can raise that person's blood sugar to dangerous levels.
If you are deemed suitable for hair transplant treatment, we can take routine blood samples at regular intervals during the procedure to measure whether your blood sugar is at normal levels throughout the procedure.
As you already know or have experienced, some diabetics have problems healing their wounds. Wounds that can heal quickly in a person without diabetes can heal in a much longer time in diabetics who cannot keep their blood sugar under control.
Wounds also become more easily infected, which can lead to necrosis, or death, of the surrounding tissue. This is due to circulatory problems and is especially manifested in the foot area.
The blood circulation in the scalp is quite good and the problem of wound healing is not very common in this area, but it is still possible. If you choose the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraxtion) method as the hair transplantation technique, you will have much less problems than the FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) method, as only very small scars will be formed on the scalp in this technique.
Regardless of the method you choose if you have diabetes, our doctors will ask you to visit our clinic more often to check your recovery process.
As a result, we can say that as long as your type 2 diabetes is under control, our specialists will take the necessary precautions before, during and after the procedure, and will work hard for you to get a successful result from hair transplantation like everyone else.
After hair transplantation, redness and tenderness occur in the donor area. This condition improves within 4-7 days following the operation.
In the planting area, crusting is seen in the first 10-12 days. This crusting is completely shed after the washing instructions made every day. After the crusting process, there may be some redness in the transplanted area. This situation is normal, it is not observed in every patient.
Hair transplant operation may take between 6-8 hours depending on the size and opening of the area to be transplanted and the number of roots to be transplanted.
Due to the acclimatization process of the transplanted roots within the first 3 months after the hair transplant procedure, it is expected that all of them will fall out. This is a normal process. When the 6th month after the operation is completed, 60% of the transplanted roots have grown and gained volume. The final result is seen 1 year after the operation.
Hair loss can have many causes such as hereditary features, stress, eating disorders, medication/drugs used, health problems, hormonal changes. Regardless of the cause of hair loss, the most permanent and sure way to regain the lost hair is hair transplantation. Although some supplements, drugs and different methods used reduce hair loss, they cannot completely stop it and cannot ensure the regrowth of the lost hair.
After hair transplantation, hair loss occurs between 1 and 3 months in the process of getting used to the new location of the transplanted hair follicles. This process is a perfectly normal process. After this process, which we call shock shedding, is completed, it starts to come out again and there is nothing to worry about.
There is no gender discrimination in hair transplantation. If there is a suitable opening for performing hair transplantation in women or men, if the person does not have any discomfort that will prevent the procedure, hair transplantation can be performed upon request.
Anyone who has completed the hair transplantation process, has a good general health status, has sufficient number of grafts to be transplanted and donor area can have hair transplantation, regardless of gender.
Whether people who want to have hair transplantation are suitable for the operation is decided primarily by considering their health status.
High blood pressure may cause other complications and the person may be life-threatening, so doctors do not recommend hair transplantation for high blood pressure patients.
There are important issues to be considered after hair transplantation, and strictly following them will affect your hair transplantation results positively. About 3 days after hair transplantation, the person can return to his normal life, but some rules have to go with him for a while. For example, heavy physical movements are prohibited during this period. This includes sexuality, especially sports. For this, a person who has a hair transplant should abstain from sexual intercourse for 2 weeks.
